Volvo commits to all-electric production by 2030

Volvo has committed to be only selling electric cars by 2030, writes Brian Byrne.

It plans to phase out all cars in its global portfolio with an internal combustion engine, including hybrids. The company says the market for non-electric cars is going to be a shrinking one, and it is pushing its investment to electric on this basis.

The all-electric Volvo C40 Recharge will be in Ireland in early 2022.
