Opel reveals new Grandland, arriving end of year

Opel has revealed the new generation Grandland SUV which will reach Irish customers at the end of the year, writes Brian Byrne.

The new Grandland will be available with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid four-wheel drive powertrains. Styling includes the new 'face' of Opel as debuted on the recently-introduced new Mokka, and the car gets LED headlights and running lamps.

The interior features two wide screens in a single unit on the dashboard, the central screen oriented towards the driver to reduce distraction. Assistance systems will include night vision, 360-degree panorama camera, automatic parking assistant, blind spot warning system, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, and more.

Latest tech infotainment systems will be part of Grandland's specification, along with wireless charging for compatible smartphones.

Pricing will be available in a few weeks.
