New Dacia Duster goes on sale

Dacia have been delivering affordable, value-for-money vehicles to the Irish market since the brand launched here in 2013, writes Trish Whelan.

While their latest Sandero models have been making waves in recent months, the Duster, launched in 2013, quickly earned a reputation for delivering all the benefits of an SUV at a city car price. More than 14,500 Dusters have been sold here so far.

Now, the brand has introduced its newest Duster (from €19,990), aimed both at customers who are looking for a comfortable, attractive SUV and those who want a robust, versatile 4x4 as the car is available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions. Three trims are offered: Essential, Comfort and Prestige.

This latest Duster has been given a more contemporary design with improved aerodynamics for greater efficiency along with new LED lights and grille design giving the car a stronger personality with improved C02 emissions and fuel consumption.

This latest model is available with a new 8-inch touchscreen and dual-clutch automatic EDC gearbox as well as new seating upholstery.

A suite of standard new Advanced Driver Assistance Systems includes Park Assist, Hill Start, Adaptive Hill Descent Control for 4x4 versions, and a Multiview camera useful for parking manoeuvres or in tricky off-road situations.

The engine line-up includes a Bi-Fuel (petrol-LPG) TCe 100 2WD combined with a six-speed manual transmission; a dCi 115 diesel (2WD or 4WD) with manual transmission, and a TCe 150 petrol (2WD) matched with a six-speed automatic gearbox. The capacity of the LPG tank on the Bi-Fuel version has been increased by 50pc or 49.8 litres. Annual road tax is from €200-€270.

New Duster is now available at Dacia dealerships.
