Peugeot powers Landsdowne Football Club for coming season

Landsdowne Rugby Football Club in Dublin has been given the use of a Peugeot 5008 7-seat SUV and a Peugeot Partner van, as part of a partnership agreement with Sandyford Motor Centre, writes Brian Byrne.

The Club was founded in 1872 by Henry Dunlop, and has won the Leinster Senior Cup a record 24 times. In 2017/2018, captained by Ian Prendiville and coached by Mike Ruddock and Mark McHugh, Lansdowne won the All Ireland League, the Bateman Cup, the Leinster Senior Cup and the Leinster Senior League Cup. It is the first-ever Leinster team to win all of these trophies in one season.

Successful Corporate Lunch at Royal Cork Yacht Club


The Royal Cork Yacht Club has hosted its inaugural Sponsors & Members Corporate Lunch. 

An Tánaiste, Simon Coveney TD, and Patrick Coveney, CEO Greencore, both Club Members and avid sailors, were the Club’s special guests and they also took part in a post lunch panel discussion with MC Rory Fitzpatrick asking the questions.

The sold-out lunch was the first in the newly refurbished dining room of the oldest yacht club in the world. Chair of Events & Communications, Annamarie Fegan said “The event was a resounding success, with next year’s lunch already filling up fast. We took the opportunity to launch our Corporate Membership which has garnered great interest too.”

There was a charitable element to the day, with €2,350 raised for Crosshaven RNLI. Royal Cork Admiral, Pat Farnan, said “The lunch was a fantastic opportunity for our sponsors and members to connect with each other and we are also delighted to support the RNLI who do great work to keep us all safe. We are extremely grateful to our speakers, Patrick and Simon, for giving their time and I would like to thank our Committee who organised the event and last but not least, a big thank you to all who attended.”

During the lunch Colin Morehead, Vice Admiral of the Club and Chair of the Cork 300 Committee, gave everyone an insight into the Clubs plans for 2020, when the Royal Cork Yacht Club will celebrate its 300th Anniversary as the oldest yacht club in the world. It will be an event like no other and designed as a celebration not just for the Royal Cork YC but for everyone with a passion for sailing. Enterprise is again Dublin Marathon partner

Enterprise Rent-A-Car Ireland, part of Enterprise Holdings, the world’s largest car rental company, has again been named as the Official Car Partner of the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon for the fifth consecutive year.

Now in its 38th year, the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon is considered to be one of the leading marathons on a global scale and showcases Dublin at its very best to an international audience.

A team of Enterprise Rent-A-Car employees will assist event organisers by providing a total of 38 vehicles for use during the marathon on Sunday, 28th October. These include 12 lead pace cars to guide the runners around the 26-mile course, as well as six safety vehicles to ferry any casualties to the Medical Team facility, six stationary timing vehicles and 14 logistics vans.

The Enterprise team is also participating in a voluntary capacity with staff member, David Hudson, entering his 21st year as a member of the Dublin Marathon Committee and set to join the 1,135 stewards that will oversee the event.

Simon Zebo becomes Keary's BMW ambassador

Keary’s BMW, Eastgate, Little Island, Cork have appointed Munster Rugby player Simon Zebo as their new Brand Ambassador, writes Trish Whelan.

Kearys BMW is Munster’s largest authorised dealership.

Kearys continue Constitution FC support

Kearys Hyundai Cork are to continue their sponsorship of Cork Constitution FC senior team for the coming season with the launch of their new jerseys, writes Trish Whelan.

Speaking at the launch, Managing Director of the Kearys Group Bill Keary said that following the success of last season’s sponsorship they were ‘very pleased to be able to continue with it into this season’.

"It is an endorsement of and a commitment to senior rugby in Cork."

The new Cork Constitution President Peter O’Leary said that it was due to the support of companies like Kearys Hyundai that they are able to meet the challenges of maintaining amateur sport in difficult times.

"Cork Constitution are delighted to be in continued partnership with Kearys Hyundai following on the success of last season’s wins in the All Ireland Bateman Cup and the Munster Senior Cup. With a new coaching team of ex international players, Tom Tierney the head coach and David Corkery the assistant coach Peter O’Leary is confident that they will go one better than last year’s fifth place in the All Ireland league and qualify for the top four playoffs."

VW Commercials sponsor business lunch

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland is sponsoring the annual Small Firms Association lunch in the autumn, writes Brian Byrne.

Being held in the RDS on October 10, the business lunch will have as guest of honour President Michael D Higgins.

Europcar partner with Triathlon Ireland

Triathlon Ireland, one of the fastest growing sports in the country, has teamed up with Europcar Ireland, Europe's largest car rental company.

The two year partnership will see Europcar provide fleet support to Triathlon Ireland and the creation of a Europcar Series of Triathlon events.

The deal provides two Skoda Yetis for Triathlon Ireland staff to use at triathlon events around the country and transport support for athletes in Triathlon Ireland's elite programme. The series will include events at - Carrick-on-Suir Triathlon, Co Tipperary; Brian Boru Triathlon, Killaloe, Co Clare; and Fingal Triathlon, Blanchardstown, Dublin.

Europcar has nine locations around the country at Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Kerry, Knock, Galway, and Navan.

Diarmuid goes Mitsubishi

If you spot TV gardener Diarmuid Gavin on snazzy new wheels in the next while, it's because he's being sponsored by Mitsubishi Ireland.

Part of the deal is a new L200 pickup, a good looker that's also very practical for a guy in his line of work.

Fans will get a chance to catch up with Diarmuid and his new L200 at the Mitsubishi Motors stand at the Ploughing Championships, taking place from September 25-27 in Heath Park, New Ross.
