by Brian Byrne. Jaguar's X-TYPE diesel range moves up a gear for the 2006 model year with the introduction of a new 2.2 litre turbocharged engine and six-speed manual transmission.
The new 155PS engine has torque peaking on overboost at a solid 400Nm, and has been developed as part of a joint venture between Jaguar and its parent company, Ford.
It will go on sale in its first markets from September this year.
