The car, which is a large coupe on a platform that utilises the company's xDrive AWD system, is powered by 3.0 diesels and 3.0 and and 5.0 petrol engines.
BMW Ireland MD Sean Green says sales are 'hard to call' in this particular year, but the company has 100 units in its plan for the rest of 2008, and up to 300 next year.
The diesel engines are familiar from the X5, while the petrol units are not available in the X5, the company's top line AWD vehicle.
