Lacetti replacement named

Chevrolet will show a replacement for the Lacetti at the Paris Motor Show in October.

The car will get a new name too, the Cruze. It will be built in sedan and wagon forms, and will be bigger than the current Lacetti, formerly Nubira.

It is expected to go on sale in Europe early next year.

Chevrolet already uses the Cruze name in Australia and New Zealand, as a rebadged Suzuki Ignis.

The Cruze will be built on General Motor's Delta compact car architecture. It will use a new 1.4 turbocharged petrol engine that GM recently announced, capable of developing 120-140hp.
