New Golf leaks out

First leaked pictures of the next generation VW Golf have appeared in advance of the car's official launch at the Paris Motor Show in early October.



At first glance it might not seem so different from the current car (and the previous ones before it), and it is unmistakably a Golf.

However, keen VW spotters will note the new grille style, and the rear quarter design, both of which echo elements of the New Scirocco recently launched.



It is understood that the most fuel efficient engine in the new range will be the 2.0 diesel, which has been imporved to get below the key 120 g/km line, and thus in Ireland would qualify for the €100 a year road tax (though nobody expects that low tax rate to last beyond the December budget).
