The car replaces the 12-year-old first generation, but will be €800 cheaper than the outgoing model.
It will be available in two grades -- Style and Titanium -- and power options are a 1.2 petrol and 1.3 diesel.
Ford of Ireland's Eddie Murphy says he hopes that the new model will bring the nameplate back to the top of the mini car segment, giving Ford leadership in five of them. Already Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo and Galaxy all top their classes in Ireland in units sold.
