Top Gear Live for RDS in December

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May officially launched this year’s Top Gear Live World Tour from London’s Royal Geographical Society (RGS), in true Phileas Fogg-style suspended below a hot air balloon.

The spectacular new show, sponsored in Ireland by Brown Thomas, will be at the RDS from Thursday, 3rd December to Sunday, 6th December 2009, following the tour's British gigs in London and Birmingham.

Fans on four continents will see flaming rally cars, extreme underground street racers and cars which change colour in the blink of an eye. Other sequences will feature the Stig who will be leading a troop of international stunt drivers via a mix of hand gestures, sonic pulses and Morse code, showing audiences the ultimate in precision driving.

The Hall of Fame will include the Ferrari California, Maserati GT, Nissan Skyline GT-R35, Audi R8 V10, Bentley Bio Fuel, and the Bentley Continental Supersports.

Reasonably Priced Karts offers visitors a chance to race around a mini replica of the famous Dunsfold track. The Pit-Stop Challenge offers the opportunity to change the wheels of a Formula 1 car in record time and try to beat a Formula 1 crew – 6 seconds!

Gold medal champions from Dublin Institute of Technology will strip and re-build automobile engines and bring them to life in the DIT Do Engine Mania Zone. Visitors can also get their hands dirty as they dismantle engine parts and examine what makes them tick.

Tickets available from €49. For ticket information log on to www.topgearlive.ie or www.ticketmaster.ie or call 0818 300 800.
