Irish Ferries offer for Paris World Cup

To facilitate Irish soccer fans travelling to the World Cup qualifier against France, which takes place on Wednesday, 18th November next, Irish Ferries have reorganised their Ireland - France schedule to provide a special round trip sailing that will get fans to the game and back.

The new sailing of their cruise ferry Oscar Wilde will depart from Rosslare on the new day and time of 2.00 pm on Tuesday 17th November, arriving in Cherbourg next morning at 10.00 am on Wednesday 18th November - well in time for fans to get to Paris for the 8.00 pm kick-off.

The return sailing to Ireland will depart from Cherbourg at 9.30 pm on Thursday 19th November, arriving Rosslare at 3.30 pm on Friday 20th November.

Fare for the trip will be €199 each way for a car plus four passengers including all taxes. Not included is a mandatory cabin which will cost an extra €105 each way for a four-berth ensuite cabin.

Taken as a whole, the package amounts to €304 each way for four adults including taxes, car and cabin which, divided amongst the four fans, amounts to only €76 per person each way. Travelling by car, fans can also recover all or part of their cost by stocking up on low-cost wines and beer for Christmas.
