Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Kia and Jaguar were the big winners in the 2010 J D Power Satisfaction Survey carried out in Britain by What Car Magazine.
Toyota's Aygo topped the City Car section. It is the third year the car has topped its segment, although it slipped in the overall rankings from 13th to 31st place.
Honda's Jazz finished top of the Supermini section for the seventh time, though in this instance sharing its placing with Toyota's Yaris. The cars' overall ranking was seventh place.
Kia's cee'd topped the small family car section and was overall 4th in the ratings, a first time for the model.
The gong for the Family Car section was taken by the Honda Accord, which also achieved an overall 5th place. In achieving its result, the Accord toppled the reigning Toyota Prius from the slot.
The Lexus IS was rated highest in the Compact Executive section of the survey and achieved an overall 2nd place in the ratings.
Jaguar's highly considered XF has thundered into the top of the Executive Car section, and shared overall second place with the Luxus IS.
Mazda hit the top spot again in the Sports Car category with its MX-5, which was also rated overall 14th.
In MPVs, the Mercedes-Benz B-Class was voted top of its section, with an overall rating of 22nd. The top SUV was the Lexus RX, which was also voted number 1 in the overall ratings.
