Expected to be called the i40, it will go on sale in saloon and estate form before the end of 2011.
The car is built on a modified version of the Sonata produced in the US market and has been designed in the carmaker's European design HQ in Russelsheim, Germany.
There will be 2.0 petrol and 1.7 diesels at launch.
