Men in Britain may prefer to have a female voice on their GPS navigation systems, but they still are more likely to ignore the directions given by 'herself behind the dashboard'.
That's the strong suggestion from a survey of more than 3,000 motorists by UK-based insurance company Swinton.
More than eight in ten men drivers said they regularly ignore the advice from the technology, while less than three in four women did.
Some one in three drivers said they had been led astray by their sat-navs, by as much as five kilometres. More than half said GPS directions instructions had been the cause of an argument with another car occupant.
Two in three respondents said they kept an old-fashioned map in their cars anyhow.
