This Father's day, Mondello Park will once again play host to the Classic Car and Motorcycle event of the year, writes Fergus Brennan, 'Classic Live', in association with Irish Vintage Scene magazine.
The show will feature more than 800 exhibits many of which will take to the track at some stage during the event, and will be a huge attraction for families looking for a unique way to entertain their dad on Fathers day.
The huge number of exhibits at classic live will be made up of Classic Cars and Motorcycles of all vintages and types with the centrepiece being provided by the 50th anniversary of the MG Midget. The Midget and other MG cars will take centre stage in the display area, and also on track, where they will have their own dedicated parade laps, as well as featuring heavily in the Historic Race Car demonstrations.
Vintage Motorcycles will be an official part of the show for the first time this year with a large display of bikes being provided by the Dunboyne Motor Club and three races taking place for Classic Machines. The Bike races will be backed up by a pair of Historic Car races for 60s and 70s sports and saloons and a single race for pre-1955 race cars. The track will remain busy even when the racers are not on track with high speed 'Track Day' sessions and more sedate parade laps filling up the remainder of the day.
To encourage spectators to make Classic Live their 'Fathers Day' day out, admission for families treating their dad has been reduced to just €15. In addition all Fathers attending will be entered into a draw to win a high speed trip around the track with a professional race driver and a Mondello Park Motor Racing School course. To enter your dad just ask for your draw ticket at the event entrance gate. All admission will also include a complimentary event programme and entry to the Mondello Park Motor Racing museum.
