Orders for the all-new Audi Q3 will begin at the end of August with prices starting at an on-the-road price of €34,650 for the 2.0TDI 140bhp SE version which is expected to account for the majority of orders, writes Trish Whelan.
The Q3 is Audi's first foray into the premium 'A' SUV segment and it will be the first Audi SUV to offer the option of a 54mpg front-wheel-drive variant.
Four engines are available at launch. These include a 2.0 TDI 177hp and 2.0 TFSI petrol unit in 170hp and 211hp forms.
The 2.0 TDI 140hp (tax Band B) unit will power the front-wheel-drive model only at launch, with a quattro version arriving early next year.
Customers can opt for Audi's quattro permanent four-wheel-drive transmission to be prepared for any heavy snow falls this winter.
Grades include SE and S. The entry level model includes 17-inch alloy wheels, aluminium roof rails and rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, a 6.5-inch retractable colour display screen, Bluetooth interface, iPod connection, multifunction leather steering wheel. There is also navigation preparation. Safety features include ESP and six airbags.
First customer deliveries start in late October.
