Ferry travel will be the fans' best, low-cost route to Twickenham for the Heineken Cup final next month, says Irish Ferries.
The company - which recorded a surge in bookings following Leinster's win over Clermont Auvergne - will provide total ferry capacity on their Dublin - Holyhead, and Rosslare - Pembroke routes amounting to nearly 8,000 passengers and 4,000 car spaces daily, in each direction. Spread across six daily cruise and fast ferry sailings, this is equivalent to around 50 flights.
Irish Ferries will be charging €30 each way for additional car passengers so that a typical car and four fare is around €200 each way.
Based on a car plus four persons travelling Rosslare to Pembroke leaving on Friday, 18 May and returning on Sunday, 20 May, the fare comes to around €100 per person return.
The company is advising fans to book early and choose from a range of fare options that includes Sail and Rail from Dublin to London from €45 each way.
