With substantial changes to its exterior design, the car is now visually in line with more recent models from the brand.
It also offers significantly better fuel efficiency, and a 1.1 diesel engine is 24 percent more frugal than the 1.4 diesel it replaces, with a combined 88mpg possible.
The 1.2 petrol engine has also been refined, offering 4.2 percent more mpg and a 9 percent increase in power.
The standard specification includes elements previously unavailable on the i20 including voice-actuated Bluetooth, auto-dimming rear view mirror, and LED daylight running lights. Electric windows front and rear are also included.
The premium for the diesel engine is €1,500.
