Nissan has revived the Datsun brand which it killed off some 30 years ago, writes Brian Byrne.
The brand was the one by which it successfully invaded US and European markets in the 1970s, but was phased out from 1981 in favour of the Nissan name.
But now a new entry-level car in India will revive the Datsun name as an affordable entry level car aimed at young people.
It will be powered by a 1.2 petrol engine and will sell in India for the equivalent of less than €6,000.
