Honda is planning to get into the small SUV market in Europe with a version of Jazz-based Vezel, writes Brian Byrne.
Just gone on sale in Japan, the Vezel is sold there with a hybrid option in its powertrains, based on a 1.5 petrol engine.
Though no details of a Euro-spec car have been released, it's likely that it would have the 1.6 diesel launched in the Civic and more recently applied to the CR-V. The Vezel is expected in Europe for the 2015 market.
The availability of the smaller diesel in the CR-V has led to a significant upturn in orders for the car in Ireland.
