Grand C4 Picasso to take more sales
The new Grand C4 Picasso is likely to represent 70 percent of sales in the new C4 Picasso range, according to Frederic Soulier, MD of Cirtroen Ireland, writes Brian Byrne.
But he said the 5-seat C4 Picasso — winner of the Continental Irish Car of the Year 2014 as voted by the Irish Motoring Writers Association — may surprise with a higher proportion of sales. He was speaking at the Irish press launch of the Grand C4 Picasso this afternoon.
The latest car is on sale priced between €26,795 and €39,395, with the 115hp diesel version at €29,295 likely to be the most popular with buyers.
The new car is available at launch in four grades and with three diesel engines ranging 90-150hp, with both an automatic and an electronic manual being available in the transmission options. The BlueHDI 150hp automatic with AdBlue technology has CO2 emissions of just 113g/km. Generally, emissions across the range are down by 30g/km.
Asked about the outlook for sales generally in the Irish car market for 2014, he said it was far too early to tell, but he hoped that the positive signs in the market which have been noticeable since November will continue to hold.
