Mazda will have the world premier of its Mazda Hazumi, a next-generation subcompact concept showing design cues for the next Mazda2, at the Geneva Motor Show, writes Trish Whelan.
In another world premiere at the event, the convention-challenging Japanese carmaker will also exhibit its new clean diesel engine: the SKYACTIV-D 1.5. This is a newly developed small-displacement, clean diesel engine.
The name Hazumi means 'bound' or 'spring up' in Japanese and the carmaker claims the name is well-suited to a small car that appears to be bursting with energy.
Another Geneva exhibit commemorates the 25th anniversary of the iconic Mazda MX-5, the all-time bestselling roadster.
The Geneva Motor Show is open to the public from 6-16 March.
