Volkswagen will World Premier a plug-in hybrid version of the Golf at the Geneva Motor Show next month, writes Trish Whelan.Following GTD, GTE is the third GT in the model series.
The GTE can be driven 50kms on electric power alone; the 1.4 TSI petrol engine in tandem with the electric motor can offer total power output of 204hp. It can do 100km/h in 7.6 seconds.
Golf GTE will arrive at dealers in the first markets world-wide in Autumn this year.
