Jaguar claim their new F-TYPE Coupé 'is the most dynamically capable, performance-focused, production Jaguar ever, writes Trish Whelan.
Jaguar say 'engineering an exceptionally rigid all-aluminium Coupé body structure was the key to the car delivering more driver reward than the F-TYPE Convertible'.
The carmaker's expertise in aluminium technology means the Coupé is delivered in a lightweight yet extremely strong bodyshell. The body side is made from a single piece aluminium pressing eliminating the need for multiple panels and cosmetic joints. The roof panel itself is offered in either aluminium or panoramic glass form.
The model line-up is headlined by the F-TYPE R Coupé, its 550hp 680Nm 5.0 V8 supercharged engine enables the car to sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.0 seconds.
F-TYPE S Coupé and F-TYPE Coupé models are powered respectively by Jaguar's 3.0 V6 supercharged petrol engines in 380hp and 340hp respectively, giving a 0-100km/h time of 4.8/5.2 seconds. All engines drive the rear wheels through an eight-speed Quickshift transmission with full manual sequential control via steering wheel-mounted paddles, or the central SportShift lever.
The Coupé range has up to 407 litres of boot space - easily accommodating two sets of golf clubs - the tailgate being available with power assisted opening.
F-TYPE Coupé pricing starts at €94,820; the S Coupé is from €109,570 and the R from €161,740.
