New car registrations for Q1 of 2014 show Volkswagen to be the top car manufacturer followed by Toyota, Ford, Hyundai and Nissan. The top selling model is the VW Golf, followed by the Ford Focus, Nissan Qashqai, Skoda Octavia, and Ford Fiesta.
The Crossover SUV segment has ballooned this year with 29 percent of the Top 10 cars sold this year belonging to the segment. Three Crossover SUVs appear in the Top 10 list, the Nissan Qashqai, Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage.
Commercial registrations are also up 38.2 percent in Q1 2014 with the most popular models being the Ford Transit, VW Caddy and Citroen Berlingo.
