Audi revises RS 7 Sportback

Audi has honed its powerful RS 7 Sportback.

The large five-door coupe now comes with new LED headlights and more enhanced infotainment features.

The 4.0 TFSI petrol engine in the revised RS 7 provides, as before, 560hp with a constant 700Nm of torque. It catapults the car from 0-100km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Optional dynamics packages allow top speeds of 280 and 305km/h respectively.

The V8 bi-turbo engine, in the ECE cycle, needs only 9.5 L/100kms of fuel, with 221g/km C02. An 8-speed tiptronic tuned for sporty performance directs the power of the eight-cylinder engine to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive.

Audi say their RS 7 confirms the reputation of the RS models as the top athletes of the brand. "The combination of a powerful 4.0 V8 engine with cylinder on demand technology, quattro drive and intelligent lightweight design makes the RS 7 an outstanding piece of sports equipment for any fan of dynamic and yet efficient driving."

The upgraded RS7 has been given a number of new design details like the Singleframe grille with black honeycomb typical of RS models, with the corners now sharper and more distinctive.

Three optional packages - matt aluminium, gloss black and carbon - make the car look even more distinctive. Slight modifications have also been made to the bumper with its distinctive air inlets. Headlights come with LED technology as standard. 20-inch forged lightweight alloy wheels are standard.

New exterior colours include Floret Silver, metallic; Glacier White, metallic; Mythos Black, metallic; and Sepang Blue, pearl effect. Numerous extras are offered.

The Audi RS 7 can be ordered from the third quarter of 2014 and will be available for delivery in Ireland for January 2015. Final price and equipment details will be made known closer to launch.
