Three years from its launch, Citroen's elegant and stylish DS 5 now offers more comfort, power and performance than before, writes Trish Whelan.

It also boasts a new suspension set-up for more comfort and dynamism.

The Citroen DS5 is now available with a new Euro 6 compliant engine, the BlueHDi 180, which now boasts a more powerful engine, with 20bhp more over the Euro 5, 160bhp version; a latest-generation 6-speed automatic gearbox; Stop&Start technology and lower C02 emissions from 118g/km. Fuel consumption is claimed at up to 4.5 litres/100kms on a combined cycle.

The improvement in C02 from 158g/km delivers benefits with VRT decreasing from 27 percent to 17 percent and now qualifying for A4 Motor Tax of €200 per annum.

Prices start at €39,795 for DS 5 DStyle BlueHDi 180 rising to €42,695 for the range-topping DSport.
