Nissan will give its new Pulsar hatchback its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, writes Brian Byrne.
Built on the same platform as the Qashqai and X-Trail, the car will have a 1.2 115hp petrol as its entry level engine.
The car will be the first compact hatchback from the company in Europe since it dropped the Almera in 2006.
In initial pricing arrangements for the UK, Nissan has pitched the Pulsar below the cost of similarly-equipped Ford Focus and VW Golfs.
