Volkswagen's new Golf Estate will cost from €22,280 which is €1,000 more than the 5-door hatchback model, writes Trish Whelan.
It will be available with the same trim and engine choices as the Golf hatchback.
The range starts with the 1.2 TSFI petrol with 85bhp (5-speed manual), but this engine will also be available with 110bhp which comes with the choice of 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG.
Diesels are a 1.6 with 90/110bhp and a 2.0 150bhp all of which are in Tax Band A3 when fitted with a manual gearbox. Diesel prices are from €24,425.
The cargo capacity is 605 litres expandable to 1,620 litres with the seats folded flat.
The new car is available to order now, and is available from €299 on PCP regardless of whether you choose Trendline, Comfortline or Highline because of Volkswagen's current retail offer on the Golf.
