Renault Group starts 2015 with 'promising start'

Dacia Duster
Renault Group has seen a strong finish to 2014 taking 8.2 percent of market share and coming in at number four in the overall market, writes Trish Whelan.

Renault and Dacia were the two fastest growing brands in Ireland last year with the Renault Group share up 1.4 percent points versus 2013 and Dacia taking a 2.8 percent slice of the action last year.

Patrick Magee Country Operations Manager, Renault Group says "Ten days into 2015, it looks to be a promising start to the new registration year with our sales going so well with the Renault Group at 8.1 percent share." He hinted to 'watch this space' as a new vehicle will be unveiled in the late Summer.

Almost 300 Dacia cars have been sold in the first ten days of 2015 taking 2.5 percent of the market. In 2014, success was in part due to sales of the Renault Clio and the Dacia Duster, both in the Top 20 selling cars last year. Renault also offer a five-year warranty across its range.

Renault say over 50 percent of registrations were secured through Renault and Dacia Finance.
