Electric car pioneer Nissan has revealed that just three of the 35,000 Leafs sold in Europe in the last five years had battery-failure issues, writes Brian Byrne.
According to the company, that's a far greater reliability record than standard petrol or diesel cars.
The Leaf is the best-selling EV, and in Europe last year increased sales by a third to more than 15,000 units.
In Ireland, Leaf sales are continuing to grow. With 188 units sold in 2014, the 2015 sales of the compact hatch are already at 165, only two and a half months into the year.
