The new generation Opel Insignia due in Ireland in mid-2017 will be lighter, lower and wider than the current car, writes Brian Byrne. It will also have a longer wheelbase and shorter overhangs.
Technologies on the car will include a further refined version of the adaptive chassis with three driving modes.
Speed-variable steering and a lower driving position will offer a more sporty driving experience, according to advance publicity from Opel, who have been teasing out the dynamics on the Nordschleife section of the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
