Audi to unveil new RS3 Sportback at Geneva

Audi will have the world premiere of its new RS 3 Sportback at the Geneva Motor Show, with a new engine and a sharper look to it, writes Trish Whelan.

Audi say the car offers a ‘truly emotive driving experience’ and offers its customers an attractive introduction to the RS world.

Behind its performance is the world’s most powerful production five-cylinder engine - the 1.5 TFSI petrol which delivers 400hp and propels the car from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds. Maximum torque is 480 Nm. The S-tronic seven-speed, dual-clutch (DSG) transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel drive transfers the power of the five cylinders to the road.

In the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), the RS 3 Sportback uses 8.3 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres which equates to 189g/km C02.

The car will be available in Ireland from Q3 2017 under the ‘Audi Sport’ label.
