Following on from its reveal of the new 3008 earlier this week, Peugeot has given details of the revisions to its big brother 5008, writes Brian Byrne. Both cars are due here in the first quarter of 2021.
The front end of the 5008 has been substantially changed, including a new frameless grille, new headlights and bumper details. LED headlights will be standard throughout the range with enhanced versions in higher levels. The lights now include a 'foggy mode' function instead of having separate foglights.
Inside there's an updated version of Peugeot's i-Cockpit system which incorporates a small steering wheel and all instrumentation visible above it. There are new trim and upholstery choices.
Available driver assist technologies will include a 'night vision' feature that detects animals or people beyond the range of the lights or in poor visibility, projecting a warning on the screen in front of the driver.
Three- and 4-cylinder petrol and 4-cylinder diesel engines with power outputs between 130ho-180hp, and a choice of manual or automatic transmissions will be available.
Irish pricing will be available before launch here.
