Full details of Opel's electric modification of the brand's legendary Manta have been revealed, with a 147hp electric motor driving the rear wheels through the original transmission, writes Brian Byrne.
The Manta GSe ElektroMOD is now the most powerful ex-works Manta ever built, eclipsing the 105hp of the 1974/1975 GT/E version. The interior gets the instrumentation of the new Opel Mokka-e, while external details include a grille that is a screen which can show moving messages.
The lithium-ion battery gives the car a range of 200kms on a full charge.
