Audi sets ICE deadline, launches latest electric car in Ireland

Audi's final car model with an internal combustion engine will be launched in 2026, writes Brian Byrne. And the company says it expects to stop selling ICE cars by 2023, depending on market conditions.

Company CEO Markus Duesmann confirmed Audi's plans to produce exclusively electric cars, at a climate conference in Berlin on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the latest in what will be more than 20 electric vehicles in its model lineup by 2025 has been launched in Ireland.

The Q4 e-tron at a starting price of €41,465 is available in SUV and Sportback formats, with ranges from 3330-511km depending on choice from two batteries. It joins the e-Tron, e-Tron Sportback, and e-Tron GT on the Irish market.
