Opel is reviving a nameplate from the 1990s for an all-new electric SUV which will be presented last this year, writes Brian Byrne.
The vehicle is expected to replace the current Crossland model, the B-segment crossover marketed by the company since 2017.
With an all-electric version of the larger Grandland already due this year, this will mean Opel offering an electric variant in all their segments.
The original Frontera was sold in two generations between 1991-2003 and was a licensed rebadging of an Isuzu off-roader. At the time, US carmaker General Motors controlled both brands.
Full details and photographs promised in coming weeks.
