Skoda Ireland has released pricing for the second generation of the Kodiaq SUV, starting from €53,670, writes Brian Byrne. Earliest deliveries for Irish customers are expected in June.
The new car is bigger than its predecessor, which the Czech brand says has been one of their most successful models, with more than 850,000 units sold worldwide.
There are petrol and diesel engine options, and for the first time a plug-in hybrid is available, with a rated electric range of 100km on a charge. The Irish distributor expects that diesel will remain the most popular engine here, responsible for 96pc of sales to date. The diesel versions of the new generation are ready for use with hydrated vegetable oil (HVO), either in combination with diesel fuel or exclusively, which can reduce emissions by up to 90pc.
The Kodiaq comes with seven seats as standard.
