The new Polestar 4 can now be ordered by Irish customers at a starting price of €68,000, writes Brian Byrne. First customer deliveries are expected in August.
In the style of an SUV coupé, the car is positioned between the Polestar 2 already on sale here and the upcoming Polestar 3.
Polestar is one of the Chinese Geely Holdings brands, and exclusively builds electric performance cars.
A detail is the elimination of the rear window in the Polestar 4, with the full-length glass roof extending beyond the rear occupants' heads. A high-definition screen allows a wide rear view via a roof-mounted camera.
The car comes with a choice of 272hp single- or 544hp dual-motor powertrains, with an acceleration from the dual-motor offering a 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds. Range targets for the car are up to 610km.
The materials used on the body and interior trim and fittings are all with a view to high sustainability.
