New Opel Mokka GSE wins major award

The New Opel Mokka GSE 281hp, the most powerful electric road car ever produced by Opel, has just won a Golden Steering Wheel 2025 ‘Best Small Car’ award, writes Trish Whelan. 

Coming to Ireland as a special order model in 2026, the Mokka GSE is inspired by the Mokka GSE Rally, packaged in a unique GSE motorsport design. Motorsport professionals, car experts and celebrities named the Mokka GSE the ‘Best Small Car 2025’. 

The car offers high-performance as standard, with a peak output of 281hp and immediate torque of 345Nm it can sprint from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds. Top speed is 200km/h making it the fastest all-electric production Opel. With its 54kWh battery fully charged, the range is up to 336km (WLTP). 

Since 2020, Opel has celebrated success five times with its current lineup of Corsa, Mokka, Astra, Grandland and now Mokka GSE.
