B&Bs report increased bookings

B&B operators marketing under the Irish Town & Country Homes banner have reported an increase in bookings of more than a fifth.

A spokeswoman for the IT&CH said most of the increase is due to investment in better booking facilities on the internet.

Some 700 training courses in the new system have been given to members.

Four out of five of the bookings are from overseas.

The B&B business has been hard hit over recent years because of competition from new budget hotels built around the country.
