Hyundai bullish about i40 sales in Ireland
Hyundai Ireland expects to sell 'at least' 1,000 of its new i40 D-segment car in 2011, writes Brian Byrne.
The car will arrive in showrooms here by the end of June, initially in a very stylish wagon form. There will be three grades, and power from a brace of 1.7 diesels of 115/135hp respectively.
The 115hp engine gives the car an A rating with 113g/km CO2 emissions.
A 160hp version of the diesel is coming later.
No prices are available yet.
The company is also launching its new Veloster coupe, which is innovative in having a third rear door on one side only. Debuted at the recent Geneva Motor Show, it will arrive in Ireland for the 2012 Market.
The Veloster will be powered by a 1.6 gasoline direct injection engine with 135hp.
