Subaru XV again scores highest safety rating

Subaru's new compact crossover, the XV, has received the highest possible safety rating in crash safety tests in the USA.

Subjecting the Subaru XV to moderate overlap frontal, side rollover and impact tests, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the car a 'good' rating, which is the top rank across all tests.

Earlier this year, it had been awarded the maximum 5-stars from Euro NCAP following rigorous safety tests, receiving the highest score ever recorded for child occupant protection at 90 percent.

The car is available here in Ireland priced from €28,495 for the manual transmission version. Engines include a 2.0 diesel, a 1.6 petrol as well as a 1.6 CVT which provides them with an automatic in the range. The CVT adds another €1,000 to the entry level price.

Subaru XV AWD crossover combines city style with urban and offroad ability.
