The second Volkswagen dedicated electric car model has just gone on sale in Ireland at a starting price of €35,436 after grants and including delivery, writes Brian Byrne.
The crossover-format ID.4 is available with a choice of batteries, giving respectively rated ranges of 343km and 500km. Power outputs are 148hp and 204hp, and the shorter range version comes with two specification options. The long-range version offers five grades of specification, each with its own set of equipment and trim upshifts. A range of driver assist, connectivity and comfort technologies are part of the overall package.
Performance with the larger battery is represented by an 8.5s sprint capability to 100km/h. The full brochure and pricing can be downloaded from here.
